DESCRIPTION
OF THE BOOK :
Nadvat ul-Ulama was founded by a group of scholars in the last decade of 19th century, mainly for two reasons- (1) to reform the courses of studies and system of education of Madaris-e-Islamia and (2) to lessen the differences among Muslim groups on different religious issues.
The book highlights and explains why the scholars of the time felt the need of the establishment of Nadvat ul-'Ulama' as a middle path in the presence of a highly traditional Madrasa of Deoband (1866) and a modernistic Aligarh Collage (1875). The book deals in detail regarding the courses of studies of Madaris-e-Islamia and life sketches of the founder members and important scholars of Nadvat ul-'Ulama'.
